Happy Roadtrips with Audiovox

I got a lemon

The Bottom Line: If you get a good one this is a great deal, but don't be surprised if you need to exchange it a few times to get a usable one.
Review: After reading reviews on LOTS of different portable DVD players, I figured out that I probably had a 50-50 chance of getting a lemon no matter which brand I picked. So when I saw the audiovox 1708 on sale at BJs for 159.99, I thought "what a deal"...

Good while it lasted

The Bottom Line: I would not recommend this product because I have had 2 units with different fatal defects within 6 months under normal usage. Perhaps another brand would provide a sturdier product.

Try Buying a Battery Pack

Review: The battery pack has a short life and cost me $86.45 to replace. I think they make their money is selling batteries.
Maybe this is standard. But check this out before buying any portable DVD.

piece of crap went bad

Disappointing quality and function- cross this model off your list

The Bottom Line: Avoid this model- runs too hot, skips too much, 90 day warranty and unit died in 11 months.
Review: I was delighted to receive this DVD player as a gift a year ago. It's trim style is great for travel and the remote allows you to operate the unit connected to a tv on the other side of the room without running back and forth.
