Waste of money, at any price... DON'T BUY

The Bottom Line: Don't even think about purchasing (doesn't read mp3 cds, freezes all of the time, poor sound quality)... look into the "Memorex Model: MPD8846" instead

I recently purchased this CD player from Best Buy as a Christmas present for my little brother. I purchased it as an MP3 player, since he already owns a regular CD player. After creating some MP3 filled CDs as an accompanying gift, I was saddened to find out that the player froze whenever it tried to play MP3 cd's. After struggling with it for about half-an-hour, I realized that the product was defective, but not after I tried some alternatives.
Before bringing the CD player back, I checked to make sure that the CD player was the problem, and not the CDs that I made. Although the CDs played fine in my computer, I decided to burn the CD with different CD burning software. After CD's created in "Nero" and "iTunes" didn't work, I checked online for technical support.
In the place of the lacking support that audiophase offers, I found some reviews that I wish that I had read before purchasing this product. It seems that there was an overwhelming consensus that this product froze all of the time and was not a good buy. Also, as I found out, the sound quality is very poor with this product.
In all, I am upset that this CD player was falsely advertised as mp3 capable. Although I returned this product for a refund, I hope to advise other potential buyers not to purchase this product. ADVICE: Buy the "Memorex model: MPD8846"... It is a far superior product, for a comparable price.
