Simply OUTSTANDING.

Athena has done it. They have created an inexpensive, excellent sounding speaker. I did a LOT of shopping around before I decided on these ASF1's. I was on a budget and didn't want to spend over four hundred for the pair. Well, I had it narrowed down to Athena and Infinity. Currently having a pair of Infinity bookshelfs made me want to purchase the floorstanding's but they seemed to lack low frequency. The Athenas were a steal for only 287 a pair at bestbuy, so I had money leftover to spend on some cds. Sure they are only two way but they reproduce the entire spectrum very well. They excell in imaging in my personal opinion. I also plan to buy a center channel Athena as well.

The first time I hooked them up, I didnt play them very loud. I let them play when I wasnt home for about 16 hours (which isnt nearly the recommended break in of 50 hours) but they already sounded different than out of the box. Tonight was the night I really experienced how well these speakers performed. I thought to myself, these are awesome on my theater setup! Funny thing happened, I assumed it was on surround mode on my reciever, but nope it was on basic 2 channel.. but it sounded GREAT!! I find myself now listening to more music than watching movies/tv. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing a set of these before the holidays..as Im sure they will be hard to find.
