A Must Have Attachment Parenting Item

Date of Review: Jan 1, 2000

When I saw the Arm's Reach co-sleeper, I knew it was right for our family. The co-sleeper functions much like a bassinet in the bedroom. EXCEPT that is attaches to your bed so that it is actually like a 3-sided extension to the bed.

I like this set up because I am a little nervous about having baby IN the bed with me, but I want her right next to me. I had an emergency c-section, and this product was a life saver. I never had to get out of bed to get the baby. I didn't even really have to sit up very much. This made night time very pleasant during the recovery period. One downside was that to get in and out of bed I have to climb around the sleeper. it's not hard to do now, but it was right after I had the c-section.

The best part is that I haven't had to get out of bed at night since my baby was born. I keep a few cloth diapers in one corner, a few burp cloths in the other, some odds and ends in the pockets and we are ready for the night!

Another great feature is that the side that is down for access goes up so that the device can be used as a pack-and-play. In fact, this is EXACTLY like all other pack and plays, except the one side goes down just far enough so that baby can't roll out (although I suppose an older baby could...be careful).

The only improvement I would make on this is to have adjustable legs. My bed is fairly low, and the sleeper is just a tad higher than I'd like it to be.

I should mention that the co-sleeper shown in the picture is the wooden model, not the pack-and-play style model I have. Although, they are sold under the same name.
