This is a very interesting fragrance, one that is very dynamic in its complexity. When I first saw this, it was on sale for like $5 at my local drugstore, so I took the plunge. At first, this complex perfume seems like it is a floriental, then, a few minutes later, the "oriental" quality disappears and becomes more of a floral. The topnote, living rice flower, as well as the pepper, gives this a somewhat oriental quality, but for a topnote, these components must be weak, because like I said, this disappears pretty quickly. The other notes in this are Italian bergamot, greens, blue lotus flower, gingerlilly, rubrum lilly, sunset orchid, sandalwood, white amber and skin sensual musk round out the mid and end notes.
Anyone who likes floriental fragrances like me, would like this perfume which is really more of a tropical floral than anything else. It is not spicy like Obsession or Youth Dew, but there is a bit of pepper in it which does not dominate, it merely accentuates the floral components. This perfume may be too complex for most people, maybe that's why it didn't sell well in its day and I don't even know whether you can still find it in the stores.
Arden Beauty is quite sophisticated and classy, it is not girly and springlike in the way that Estee Lauder's Pleasures is. I would definitely recommend this if you like more complex floral based perfumes and the staying power is pretty good as well. Hopefully they haven't discontinued this, as it is a very exciting fragrance. HIghly recommend.
