iPod nano is good for what it does-play music!
Date of Review: Nov 6, 2006
The Bottom Line: This iPod is great for kids and adults alike. Buy it from a Apple retailer to ensure a new unit.
My kids wanted iPods. It's the hottest thing now amongst the kids. And it had better be iPod or nothing. So I picked up 3 of these babies from my favorite internet retailer-Newegg.com at $99 ea. This was in September and it was a weekend special, I do not know what the current price is.
One of these was for me. They came 3 days later and was I in for a surprise! Contrary to other reviews this device was brain dead easy to setup. You run iTunes, you plug in the iPod (USB 2.0 only!) the device syncs with your music library and loads. It loaded about 200 songs in about 5 minutes! And that's only 3/4 full. I mean how many songs can you possibly listen to? It's good for my commute back and forth and it can always be updated. And besides the price was right. I don't need videos, pics or any other nonsense, it plays music and it plays it well, period.
This reminds me of the Sony Walkman craze 25 years ago.
Same concept just a different technology. I still listen to my original Walkman and it sounds good after 25 years of service!
Shop around, prices are $100 to $150 on average. But buy it new and at retail or your Apple warranty is void!
I would not purchase this item on Ebay, you probably will get ripped off. My friend did. The item was passed off as new and it arrived clearly used with a corrupted file system which is why the seller got rid of it! Think about it: Why would anybody sell the hot item of the season?
Caveat emptor, with these electronic devices folks!
