Great, and not so great.

The Bottom Line: If you want something small and easy, then buy it. If you want something long-lasting, then do not buy it.
I bought an iPod a few years back, and thought I was making a smart purchase. I had bought a 4 GB, and was ecstatic about getting it hooked up and ready for me to listen to. It was easy and quick to get it started and upload music. I listened to it constantly, it was with me 24/7, I never let it out of my sight.
I bought this in the hopes of being able to listen to music wherever I went, and it did just that. I had wanted one ever since they had come out, I just never got around to actually buying one. It helped me to get motivated to jog, I could listen to music and not my own breathing! I use it when I need to concentrate on writing a paper, or even just cleaning around my house.
The thing I love about this iPod is the fact that I can take music wherever I go, in my car, on a jog, at school, but unfortunately, not at work. I had a variety of music at my finger tips, and it was not in a bulky CD case that I would have to dig through to find what I wanted.
The negative aspects of this particular iPod, is that you can only fit so much. If you are a music lover, like me, you have incredible amounts of music waiting to find room to go on your iPod. When I ran out of room, I had to either delete songs off of my iPod, or not have certain songs on it at all. Another negative aspect is the battery. It is an 8 hour battery, and if you listen to it constantly, it may or may not get you through a day or two. Eventually, the battery started to wear down. In my last uses of the iPod, the battery only lasted 2 hours, and I was not willing to send it in and pay money to get the battery replaced. The best thing to do to save a battery's life is to only charge it when it is completely dead, and that can only keep it's 8 hour life continuous for so long. There is no way to prevent a battery from wearing down.
If you are planning on getting an iPod, I highly suggest you buy the newest generation of iPod. It may cost a little more, but it is definitely worth the money.
