Dump your Md, CD or cassette players.

I'll skip the technical details that everyone else have already given about the Ipod. We all knows it stores around 1000 songs (4 gigs) with other features like a calender, games, alarms, and it can act as a hard drive for you MAC computer files.

This was given to me as a gift - pink! It was so shiny and pretty, and I was pretty surprised how small it was in the box. It also came with a white belt clip and your basic cords (to connect to the computer and the A/c to charge). Snap the belt clip on, and it's bulkier, but really - I can't live without the clip. Without it, the Ipod is slippery, and you can only put it in your pockets. I usually clip in on my front pant pocket so it's easy to navigate when I want to change songs and turn up the volume.

I have to say though, I had a major problem when I first got it. I had finished putting in about 500 songs from my CD, which means writing in the titles and waiting for hours for it import, etc. A couple of days later, I turn on my ipod and there was NOTHING. All my files were gone. Why? I don't know. I called customer service. The lady who helped me was in India (they choose representatives randomly from all the countries when you call), and she had no idea. There was nothing to be done to get my files back, and I had stupidly deleted everything from my MAC. Just a lesson to you all - back up all your music files. If you don't have room on your computer, and don't have a hard drive, save it on a DVD (since it'll take a million CDs to save all those songs).

Since then, I've had put all the songs back and more, and I haven't had any more problems with it. So I'm happy for now.

I now have almost 700 songs, and it's really easy to navigate due to the innovative and patented wheel. Don't settle for other mp3 players because Apple is the only company to make the wheel and it makes navigating through all those songs a cinch.

As for sound quality, it's noticeably better than my old Sony MD player. The white earbuds are small and comfortable, but it turns yellow over time.

I also have the car kit, and the sound is really great in spite of my crappy old system. The quality is as good as the music coming from a CD.

One thing I don't like about it is that the battery power lasts around 2 days for me. With my MD player it lasts like a week. It's no problem to charge it I guess, but I was on a car trip for 24 hours, and it died out on me halfway through. I use it without the backlights and sound boosters. If you do, it sucks up more batteries.

When I have the Ipod playing for a really long time, it heats up a tiny bit, but it's not a problem at all.

Itunes is pretty easy to use if you already are a MAC person. All you have to do is drag the music in your Ipod, and you can create groups for artists.

Overall, the Ipod mini is the best MP3 player on the market, and it's worth the money for such a small, compact size. If you want to shell out a little bit more money for the regular Ipod that can store more songs, go ahead, but I'm really happy with the mini because it is pretty.
