Switcher? Yeah I think so ...

by   ivy-rose ,  Feb 21, 2003
Pros: simple, sleek, easy to use
Cons: need to max out RAM for best performance
The Bottom Line: Get one. Small, simple, sleek, it's perfect :)
Review: UPDATE - 03.16.03
I have since bought a cell phone (Samsung A500 from Sprint) and the compatible SnapSync data cable. I heard that I might be able to use my cell phone as a wireless modem, so I bought the data cable, plugged it in and...

Veni, Vidi, ibook-i (I Came, I Saw, I... umm... iBook)

by   tyreal101 ,  Jun 27, 2006
Pros: Screen clarity, DVD/CD player, iTunes, virus free, bulletproof OS, quiet keyboard, silent computer
Cons: battery charge, OSX compatibility, sporatic internet connection, dual function F-keys
The Bottom Line: Try a Mac out, you may never see Microsoft in the same way again!
Review: I have had my iBook since the last quarter of 2003, and I have been using the internet with it for the past year and a half. This computer has done what I want it to do with very few exceptions, despite those exceptions being pretty annoying. Let's ...

How Cool is That?

by   buckiscool ,  Dec 17, 2002
Pros: Great design, reliability, ease of use
Cons: Heavier than 12-inch model, only have 256 MB RAM
The Bottom Line: Go get yourself one of this iBook or the 12-inch ones that is lighter and more portable.
Review: This bigger iBook is great for almost every person. Exceptional quality blends with a design that only “cool” can describe. When the iBook arrived, I pulled it out of the shipping carton. Then I immediately noticed the white package that housed...

Absolutely Flawless!

by   ash82 ,  Dec 10, 2003
Pros: Lightweight-battery life-crisp screen-included software is top notch - gorgeous design
Cons: Adding RAM to 640MB is a must - speakers are tiny
Review: As a university student, I was in the market for something simple but still capable of handling lots of typing and the usual Net surfing, watching DVD's and storing my MP3's. Having never used Mac OS before I was a little hesitant in buying the iBook; ...

Good 4 years ago

by   caitpcampbell ,  Aug 14, 2008
Pros: Easy to learn and use. Built-in wireless and bigger screen than current MacBooks.
Cons: Outdated, a bit slower
The Bottom Line: Absolutely recommend a Mac over PCs. If need a cheap laptop with OK performance, this is a good option.
Review: Computer is outdated now if looking for high performance laptop. Good for general internet surfing, e-mail, and word processing. If you are looking for a high performance laptop, I would go for a newer Mac (MacBookPro) not this. If you need a laptop ...

Once you go Mac, it's hard to go back

by   kelleyj77 ,  Dec 14, 2003
Pros: Easy to use, portable, reliable, and all-in-all fun to own.
Cons: Why won't my mouse work?!!!!!!
The Bottom Line: More than an ordinary laptop, great for both experienced and inexperienced users. I would eagerly buy another if they were less expensive.
Review: I've had my iBook for over a year and have been more than pleased with it's performance. It's light (5-6 pounds), fast, and reliable. I use it for web and graphic design, word processing, Internet searching, editing movies, email, and movie/music ...

Apple iBook: A Darned Decent Laptop

by   reneesarah ,  Jan 28, 2003
Pros: Intuitive functioning. Visually appealing.
Cons: Poor built-in speaker quality. Case scratches easily. Battery case does not sit flat.
The Bottom Line: Reliable, easy to use and fun to work with. A good laptop.
Review: I did a lo of thinking before getting a Mac. I have been using Windows based machines for years, and was worried that using OSX would cause me communication problems in a predominantly "Windows world." It hasn't. I have the 800 mhz iBook with 640...

Know what you need in a machine

by   jesselegault ,  May 26, 2003
Pros: Screen quality is excellent for a laptop
Cons: Airport card and screen brightness drain the battery far too quickly
The Bottom Line: Recommended for high end users. For the everyday word processing and internet, shop around.
Review: My reasons for getting a laptop were school work first and foremost, internet second, and music and photo third. I have grown up with pcs, using them mainly for word processing and internet, and I was prepared to continue with what I knew until I...

beware of the power cord

by   spidergirl222 ,  Nov 27, 2004
Pros: great design, ease of use
Cons: power cord will break
Review: Don't get me wrong. This computer is great in many ways. But after about a year, my power cord started fraying at the connector. And I discovered that this wasn't covered by Apple's 3-year warranty (which is pretty expensive). And then I discovered that ...
