The Ultimate Computer
Everyone has or has used a computer at least one time or another in their life, and when you use a computer you want to use a good reliable one. That is exactly what the MacBook OS X Leopard is, a good reliable computer. I use to only use Dell computers, because they were they only computers available for me to use, whether it was at school or home. When I first got my MacBook I was a little scared about how it would work, but when I first used it I was hooked. I can safely say that I will never use a Dell again if there is a Mac available for me to use. The MacBook OS X Leopard is really easy to use and efficient, it has awesome features and programs, and it has better basic functions compared to other computers.
Use and Efficiency
I personally think that the MacBook is one of the most efficient and easy to use computers out on the market. The MacBook is a great computer for pretty much anyone. For example, they are great for a total computer genius, to a total computer challenged nerd, such as myself. Before I got my Mac I was only use to using Dells computers, so I was really nervous about buying a computer I knew nothing about. But, everything turned out great in the end, because now using my Mac is easier than using any other type of computer. At first I was confused about the Mac because everything was so different about it, and none of my friends or family knew how to help me because we had all grown up using a Dell. So, I figured out that if you ever have questions about how to use your Mac, there are multiple places to go to for help. Such as, calling the Apple support line (which I had to do the first day I got my computer, but it did not really help me much because I literally knew nothing about the computer), going to the Menu bar and selecting the “Help” button and typing in your question, and you can even go to or call an Apple store. I went back to the Apple store once, because I thought I needed a mouse to help me function my computer properly. So, when I went back someone greeted me at the door and asked if I needed help with anything. I explained my situation to the man, and he then took me over to the type of computer I had and showed me how to change the settings on my touch pad so I wouldn’t have to waste my money buying a mouse. Everyone I have ever met at the Apple store has been extremely pleasant, and I know they know what they are doing and that made me secure in buying this type of computer.
Features and programs
The MacBook comes with many programs that are similar to those that Dell uses. For example, on Dell programs there is Word Perfect, on Mac’s it is called Pages, or Text Edit. Other examples of programs would be, Power Point compared to Keynote, Excel to Numbers, and Internet Explorer to Safari, or Fire Fox. These certain programs do not come on the computer, so you would have to buy them if you wanted them, but it is worth it. A down side of having used a Dell your whole life then switching to a Mac is that they are really different when it comes to certain aspects in a program, and it can be confusing at times. For instance, the exit button on the menu bar of a program is on the left side instead of the right, and when the button isn’t where you expected it to be it can be a little frustrating. However, like anything else you eventually get use to it and it isn’t that big of a problem anymore.
Another thing I really admire about the MacBook is that it has so many other features that come on the computer, without you having to buy them. For example, my computer came with a program called “Garage Band”. This is program that lets you create your own individual song, and for music lovers such as myself that’s a major plus. It also comes with other little programs such as, a built in camera, Photo Booth, iPhoto, Dictionary/Thesaurus, iChat, Time Machine, and so much more.
The Basics
Some of the basic components that users want to know about is the cost, portability, battery life and the memory. First off, you can buy this computer for around $1,500-1,600. It is a little bit on the expensive side, but at least you know your getting your moneys worth. I got my computer for $1,600. 53 at the Apple store down in Salt Lake City, Utah around two years ago, and it is still working beautifully for me. Second, this computer is awesome because it is not heavy at all and it is easy to carry around anywhere you go such as, going to class, going on a trip, or even going into the next room. Third, the battery life on the MacBook is amazing. Depending on what your doing your battery can last up to 5-6 hours. I know that with my computer I can watch two full movies without having to charge my battery in between either of them. Fourth, the memory on the MacBook is a 160 GB hard drive, and for people like me who do not know what in the world that means, it basically means that it has an abundant amount of memory.
I have come to the conclusion that the people who manufactures the MacBook’s really know their stuff, and their is no one else I would want to buy a computer from. I absolutely love my MacBook, because it is so easy to operate, it has many interesting programs, and its basic functions work better than any other computer I have ever used. Overall, I would suggest that anyone who is in a need of a good computer check the MacBook OS X Leopard out.
