the MINI!
Date of Review: Dec 12, 2007
The Bottom Line: You can't beat the reliability, quality, and user-orientated nature of Macintosh. If you've already got a monitor and keyboard, go for the Mini and save a bundle!
After weeks of my PC randomly freezing and rebooting, I decided to invest in a Mac. As I looked at Apple's product line, I realized that I could save a lot of money by using my current monitor, keyboard, and mouse with a Mac Mini. The Mini comes with an adapter which allows it to work with almost every computer monitor out there.
The Mini comes with the standard power supply, the display adapter, and a remote (for front row). Setting up the Mini was very easy and straightforward. Within minutes, I was browsing the net, uploading songs, and transferring some files off of my old computer. The Mini has built-in wireless and bluetooth capacities. You can easily transfer files to and from your bluetooth enabled PDA or smart-phone.
Four weeks later, I have yet to restart the Mini. It's extremely reliable and only slows down when numerous programs are running (like running iTunes, Firefox, PowerPoint, and Word all while opening a PDF).
It's entertaining to see people's responses when they visit me. "Woah, how did you make your computer look like a Mac?" (they think I installed programs to make Windows look like OS X). You've gotta love the simplicity and graphical eye-candy on OS X.
