Pretty good value for dockable iPod alarm

I'll be honest; I have a hard time finding an alarm clock that I like.  Too often that are too quiet or hard to set.  I have recently purchased an iPhone 3G and decided that it would be nice to have a dockable alarm clock by my bed so that I can listen to music and charge my iPhone.  The problem was that it's elusive to find something iPhone compatible. 
I saw the iHome iH4B at my local CVS store and even though it's not your typical electronics store the price was right and I figured what the heck. 
Overall Thoughts
The iHome iH4B is a small footprint iPod dockable clock radio.  It features one alarm, one time zone, an optional remote control, and accent lighting.  It has a prominent snooze button that also serves to dim the accent lighting.  The time and alarm setting buttons are located on the right side.  On the back is a line-in input, bass switch, and the power plug.

Packaging
Packaging was straightforward and not a lot of waste.  Inside you will find the clock, an AC adapter, a couple docking adapters, backup batter, and some instructions.
Initial Setup
Initial setup was pretty easy.  It took me about 3 minutes to open up, setup, set the time, and set the alarm.  Putting my iPhone in I got the warning about a non-compatible product and putting in airplane mode.  If you ignore the putting into airplane mode the iPhone charges just fine and plays your music. 
Sound Quality
Sound quality is ok until you get about 60% of maximum volume.  It then starts to distort fairly quickly.  Truthfully, if you are looking for a speaker system for your iPhone/iPod look elsewhere.  This is a glorified clock radio first and foremost.  That being said, I am satisfied with the sound that comes out of this little unit.  It will be nice to use while making the bad, cleaning the room, etc.  There is a bass switch on the back which doesn't seem to do anything.  I'm thinking my units' switch may be broken and I may return it.  Then again, how much bass can these tiny speakers make?
Alarm Clock Sound
If you have your iPod docked it will play the song that you have queued.  The volume increases gradually, but the increase is pretty rapid.  If your iPod is not docked it has a generic alarm type ring. 
Accent Lighting
To be honest the accent lighting is a double edged sword.  It looks good when you want a little light but you are unable to shut the lights off and still have the clock display lit up.  I know it was probably designed that way to save a little money, but it's kind of annoying.  You can shut it all the way off, but in order to see the time in the middle of the night you will have to press the snooze button to turn the lights on and then press it numerous times to shut the lights back off.  Thankfully I can tolerate the light on the dimmest level and leave it on like that.
Final Thoughts
The iHome iH4B is a good value if you want to have a small iPod speaker system and an alarm clock that can charge your device.
