I noticed my mom struggling to carry all her CDs just to listen to music she liked at the gym. I came up with the perfect solution, the Apple iPod shuffle second generation pink.
Its small and light weight: about 1 inch tall, 1 ½ inches wide and a ½ inch thick; weighing only 0.6 oz.! At that size and with the clip on the back it fits securely inside her pocket. Made of Anodized Aluminum it is durable and safe enough to take to the gym. It even comes in stylish colors such as pink, blue, orange, or green. When on the go she can listen to her music using the headphones. When at home she can use the docking station and play her music over the stereo system. With 12 hours of battery life she can listen to music all day and into the night. Recharging the battery takes 4 hours.
The simple design of the iPod makes it very easy to navigate, especially when youre on the treadmill. With five easy access controls, you dont even have to look at the iPod to control it. It has a play/pause button, the volume control and the track shuffle keys. Thats all, its that simple. Its exactly what she is looking for: small and easy to navigate. And it cost only $79! With the small size and low cost you sacrifice some functionality. Larger models have a LCD navigational screen. With the iPod shuffle you cant search for albums or artist, you have to skip through the playlist to find a specific song. With 1GB installed, holding only 240 songs, that shouldnt take too long.
There are a few downsides to the iPod shuffle, but its small and simple design, easy navigation and competitive price are great for a first iPod.
