Author's Review
I recently purchased a G5 system, and being new to Mac's I ordered an accompanying Cinema 20" lcd to see what all the hype was about. I had to opportunity to compare both this current silver model lcd and the older clear plastic version which it replaced (they sent me the older one first). Off the bat, the new model is more sleek, occupies less desk space, has 2 USB slots (like the prior model) and 2 firewire slots (new), and most importantly for me this new model now has a DVI connector instead of the proprietary and pointless Apple Digital Connector (ADC). This last point is key since you can use this monitor on your PC as well and the ADC to DVI adapter sells for ~$100.
Overall, the clarity is excellent, the colors are accurate, and the G5 can preconfigure the color space for the lcd to further increase color matching. The switches on this lcd were designed for a minimalist, with only a power button, and 2 buttons to decrease/increase brightness. The lcd's operation is also very quiet. One minor disadvantage in moving from the ADC to DVI connector is the lcd now has a break-out box (about 2x4x2") which connects it to a power plug. Otherwise, I have all compliments for this new and improved Apple 20" Cinema lcd.
