~~ THE APPLE DOESN'T FALL FAR FROM THE TREE WITH IPOD VIDEO ~~
Date of Review: Jun 24, 2007
The Bottom Line: From every song in the book to every movie in your collection you can have it all!
Are your kids bored already from being out of school? Are you stepping out and getting your running shoes on? Are you going on long car road trips and need a huge variety to keep your mind occupied and off of the road signs? Put down your walkmans and invest in the Apple iPod Video Black Digital Media Player! Apple has an entire series of iPod that play playlists of music, some with digital reading, others without, but this is the mother of all digital media players. It puts the run of the mill MP3 players to shame. This is a one stop, all bases covered, never-get-tired-of media know it all! Every one in my house has a different iPod. We each have different tastes in music (my husband loves worship music, county and 1950's oldies whereas I love Pussycat Dolls and Jennifer Lopez, to name a few) so each of have a little experience with downloads and playback, but we all share one of these for the time being, as they are very trendy expensive at $250.00 on sale, more if not on sale. Is it worth it? YES!
WHAT YOU SEE IS REALLY WHAT YOU GET
This iPod is slim and lightweight and is an attractive black color. The screen is very bright and easy to watch. It can hold almost 20,000 songs (I don't think I know that many, and I certainly could not afford to download that many from itunes.com at 99 cents a pop!) You can download songs from the internet, burn them from your cds, or transfer songs from our other MP3 players. There is about 20 hours or so of playtime on it if you are judging by time and not numbers of items. There is a playback that has no gaps, and the songs just roll one right into the other without the normal annoying pause. The interface is searchable, so it is always painless to find what you are looking for. There is 80 GBS in the hard drive to keep you busy for hours on end. The sound is very clear and crisp!
Once you have had enough of the tunes, and your ear are ringing, you can switch over to watch videos or photo slideshows with the cool wheel in the front that allows you to move and find your collection easily and without any frustrations that come with other mp3s. You can play iPod games, audio books, tv shows, podcasts and tv shows! It only takes a few seconds to search the database, and if you have attention span problems like myself where I only listen half way through the song before I need to listen to something new, then you want this! We are going on several road trips this summer, and my hubby and I always fight over the radio stations, so now we can just put the headphones on and enjoy! The screen is very clear and looks just like any other portable dvd player that you have in your home. Amazing clarity.
This is very easy to use, and once you get the swing of it, you will have a hard time putting it down or not becoming addicted!

WHO WOULD EVER WANT SUCH A THING?
There is not anyone who will not enjoy this to it's fullest. This is an awesome gift for anyone who has everything already. This is so enjoyable and full of possiblities that it is really mainstreamed for everyone. College students in between classes, working people riding the subway or bus, grandmas who are active and walking their hearts out every morning, moms waiting at the bus stop, fishers sitting on the boat, kids who have fun playing with favorite games and movies, Lifeguards, if you need a study break, if you are having a yard sale and need to pass time, just about anytime is an iPod op!!
If you think about your daily life, whether it is being on break at work, sitting in your office waiting for your next client, sitting outside on the swing drinking coffee, driving to work and can't find a good song on the radio, working out, sunbathing at the beach, waiting in the doctors office waiting room, going out for a picnic, anything goes!
WHAT'S ON YOUR PLAYLIST?
So, you want to know what makes me tick? While I can't go over everything that I have on my co-ed Apple, I can give you a peek. At any given time, I can listen to songs like:
* No Matter What ~ Def Leppard
* Tomorrow ~ The Annie Soundtrack
* Don't Worry, Be Happy ~ Bob Marley
* Eye of the Tiger ~ Survivor
* Give Peace A Chance ~ John Lennon
* Cruel Summer ~ Bananarama
* The Power ~ Snap
* Don't Cha' ~ Pussycat Dolls
* Toxic ~ Britney Spears
I can watch clips of Dane Cook from Employee of the Month, Alec Baldwin from Ghosts of Mississippi or Kevin Costner in Dragonfly. I can watch every photo I have slide one right into the other..Now, I ask you, What is on YOUR playlist??
