Author's Review
There are many details that go into planning a party. The last thing a DJ needs to worry about is bad set of Headphones.
Whether you are getting ready for hard-hitting New York City underground house mixes for a dance club, or mixing a digital master piece for your best friend you wont be able to heat things up unless youve got phat soundz. Fortunately, the Stanton Magnetics DJ Pro 2000 S Stereo Headphone delivers all of the phat soundz your musical earlobes can handle.
The Stanton Magnetics DJ Pro 2000 Headphones are high-quality stereo headphone designed for the professional DJ. The DJ Pro 2000 headphones increase the drive capability from your tape recorder, compact disc player or Technic turntables. Low-noise operation is especially important men you are mixing music.
Rotating ear-cup allows for flexible positioning, which means its easy to adjust the headphones to the shape of your head. The single sided or shoulder rest allows you to make specific adjustments to your wearing styles. You wont have a lot of problems positioning your headset since the closed ear-cup design covers the ear better than earmuffs. Some DJs position their headsets differently some have both ears covered while others have only one ear covered.
Sometimes DJs go through mad moves when listening to their headphones with just one ear. The rotating ear cups are designed to help facilitate those maneuvers. Your positioning results may differ, depending on the shape of your ear and tastes. The most important thing is that an ear is covered.
Sound:
Once youve got your headphones in a place thats comfortable for you, the wide frequency at 20 Hz-30 KHz and closed ear-cup design for sound isolation provide good quality soundz. For the average layman 20Hz-30KHz may not mean much, but for the DJ the wide-frequency response of 20Hz to 30kHz is the bomb! You can quickly tell the difference between Stanton Magnetics Headphones and a pair of $10.00 cheapies, there is no comparison.
The DJ Pro 2000 Headphones offers superior sound with the bass drums sounding as prominent as the cymbals, with all the in between frequencies getting their fair share of prominence. In my opinion these Stanton headphones offer a phat trademark sound thats punchy, accurate and crisply defined. The bass is rich and solid, and the treble extension is superb.
Feel:
The 90ยบ (elbow) 1/4" connector is easy to use plugging into my system with ease. I recommend jacking into the system directly since its more ergonomic as far as cable weight distribution since the headphones are weighty enough. Despite the weightiness of the DJ Pro 2000 Headphones there is not need for you to worry about physical fatigue of your outer ear, Ive worn mine for hours with no problems.
Storage and cleaning are relatively easy especially with the detachable coiled cord. They fold and store with no trouble. I really like the fact that these headphones fold up into a reasonably small package and are built solidly enough that they won't break easily. There is a mini-jack adaptor included; however I dont use it.
Overall:
I highly recommend the Stanton Magnetics DJ Pro 2000 S Stereo Headphone if you are just starting in the business, the headphones are just the thing. You should be able to find them for approximately $60.00 dollars online, trust me, they are worth the cheddar.
