Russell at her Best!!!

Anna Russell is a legendary English comedian with a dry wit that could make a stone laugh. She parades around on this stage for a small audiences making jokes about Gilbert and Sullivan and Wagner, thinking nothing of having the audience spit along with her at the end in a rendition of an English folk song.

Russell's charm is her real presence on the stage. She begins each performance by telling the audience of her experience in Conservatory, making fun of the music world. Being a classically trained singer, I knew exactly where she was coming from. The ammo is endless, believe me.

Russell then does a hysterical impression of Gilbert and Sullivan literally wearing about ten hats. She finishes it off with her Wagner repertoire, pretty famous around the world at this point. Her analysis of the Ring cycle leaves nothing to be desired.

I would advise this tape to anyone with a little musical training. It's great for kids. Russell makes everything funny, even down to her clothing. It's worth seeing.
