If there isn't more, I will BURN IT!

Though I did enjoy the series enough to buy and read all 3 books, I was slightly disappointed, especially by this ending. Fantasy is my favorite genre and so i look forward to good reads like this. And, I admit, if Mr. Brooks does continue this story in a separate series, I will certainly be all over it. However, this book, like the two previous ones before it, were a bit of a disappointment to me because he spent too much time explaining or having characters reminisce. Though there is a lot of time spent on burrowing into character's minds, I did not find that many of the characters had enough depth and were often boring. There was too much peace or long waits in between battle scenes and the final climax was maybe 15 good pages out of 300 plus. The basic storyline, though simple, has a lot of potential for more conflicts and plot. If Brooks can utilize this in future series, it will definitely be worth the read. The first book of this series, "running with the demon" is definitely the best as it set up the story very well..however, i feel that the last two books did not capitalize on the potential for demonic characters and interaction between Nest, the main character and others. I would still buy it, if this is your bag, but there are definitely much better stories worth reading.
