The Bottom Line: A top quality film, both fast and deep, smart and action-packed.

Review: From the first gun, almost literally, Amores Perros drops us into a car chase that hatches, haunts and invents the rest of the film.

We don't know the people rushing through the streets of Mexico City, or why one set wants to kill the other...

Pros: Great story telling. Edgy cinematography.

Cons: English subtitles do not convey the intensity and vulgarity of the dialog.

The Bottom Line: Great story telling combines with interesting characters, edgy cinematography, and universal truths about the nature of love.
