Nursing was great because of this pump !

I bought the Ameda purely yours after failing miserably with a hand breast pump (single) which I used with my first pregnancy. What a difference this pump made during for my second child. It is a very effective pump. During the first few days of nursing, it really helped a lot with those engorged breasts and also helped to express whatever the baby left behind. This helped to establish my milk supply quite well. My right nipple got cracked somehow in the first attempts of nursing and this pump dealt with that too, effectively pumping milk from the right breast, helping to keep the supply established while the nipple healed. The suction power is awesome, I never even had to go above the first 2 notches. The cycle speed is also adjustable which I found extremely helpful. I found the pump was easy to clean, the instructions clearly state it does not need to be sanitized. I would say you have to be very careful with the little flanges, they tear easily apparently, though I never did tear even one. I continued to use this pump for 6 months, pumping whatever was left after my child nursed. I must say I never used it outside the house though – if I did, the motor would have been a little too loud.
