excellent, simple mp3 player

Cons: None, really. This is the best car stereo I've ever owned, and the cheapest.

I tried out several mp3 players in my car before settling on this one. I love it because:

It plays all kinds of mp3 disks without problems. The Sony players I tried couldn't play high-bit-rate mp3s without skipping, but this Alpine plays anything I throw at it. It also sounds the best of any sub-$500 deck I tried.

The controls are simple and intuitive.

It has a built-in high-pass crossover that can be applied to the built-in amp, so adding a subwoofer was simple and inexpensive. All I needed was a powered sub.

It has an actual cd slot. You don't have to motor down the faceplate to change disks!

It is very reasonably priced, considering the quality.

It controls my ipod.
