Pros: Long movie, saw for free, good story
Cons: ....uncomfortable seats???
The Bottom Line: Worth more than just $8 to see at the theater...go see it...like NOW
Review: Well, I just got back from a Pre-Screening of Alexander. Let me tell you. Oliver Stone knows what he is doing with his movies. After reading the article in my Entertainment Weekly, it was said that some of the crew was actually making fun of him because ...

Pros: Superb spectacle
Fine acting
Cons: I can't think of any.
The Bottom Line: I recommend the film highly and will see it again in the cinema.
Review: I've just come from watching Alexander and can't understand why anyone would complain of it being too long. I was disappointed that it ended so soon. It is a stunning film, utterly authentic in matters of costuming, setting and weaponry. The battle ...

"ALEXANDER [Stone? Bush?] Found Babylon a Mistress Easier to Enter Than to Leave." |
|||||||||
|
Pros: The Battle Scenes, Angelina Jolie, Val Kilmer, John Kavanaugh, the potential of the project.
Cons: The script, the pace, the lost opportunities for drama and spectacle; Colin Farrell as Alexander.
The Bottom Line: MARCH 8, 2009: ALEXANDER REVISITED: THE FINAL CUT has improved upon the theatrical version mightily. Though longest yet, Stones rearrangements, trimming, and additions make me give it an added star!
Review: The Son of the One-Eyed One became the King of One-Eyed Men. But . . . was the One-Eyed One, Zeus or King Philip II of Macedonea? That's the conundrum which propels and thwarts Alexander III in Writer/Director Oliver Stone's ...

Alexander the Kinda' Great |
|||
|
Pros: set design, battle scene choreography, story
Cons: too long, unorganized, underdeveloped character motives
The Bottom Line: I recommend it, but only if you typically like costume drama bioepics. If Troy and King Arthur don't satisfy you then neither will Alexander. To the rest I say enjoy.
Review: Oliver Stone's "Alexander" is the third major biopic film of the year, following Wolfgang Peterson's Troy and Antoine Fuqua's King Arthur. Troy was lackluster and received a C+ from me, I liked King Arthur for the most part and gave it a respectable B, ...

Pros: Great cast, good effort, interesting take...
Cons: Should've left it in the oven a little longer...
The Bottom Line: Stone's spin on the Alexander saga is worth seeing at least once...
Review: Oliver Stone's spin on the Alexander story benefited from a stellar cast, an interesting plot and action-packed cinematography. Unfortunately, there just wasn't enough dynamics available to push this up alongside Troy as the Olympic ...

Alexander the Average

Pros: Oh my god! Angelina Jolie better get her second Oscar for this!
Cons: The movie misses its target audience entirely. The plot and sequences are messed up.
The Bottom Line: I say go and watch it, simply because it is very different from anything else in its genre!
Review: I'm sorry, but I really liked this movie... a lot! I think it was a good movie about Alexander, albeit, the Average. The movie was not average, but Alexander himself, refreshingly, was. Though, to me, anyone whose goal in life is to conquer the world has ...

Pros: Style, Set, Stone, Greek Mythology, Paolo, Subject, Element, Scenes, Make-ups, Farrell, Jolie's Costume, Dawson, Hephaistion
Cons: Editing, Stone, Puzzlement, Disorder
The Bottom Line: The movie, "Alexander," suggest being the life of Alexander the Great, who conquer most of the world in between 356-323 B.C.
Review: It is the “Alexander” movie. The director Oliver Stone is the cinematic in view. The pictorial picture that suggests being. The life of it is Alexander the Great, whoever. The ruler of Macedonia (roughly Northern Greece) is forever. The ...

makes Troy and Gladiator seem pedestrian in comparison

Pros: script, sets, soundtrack, acting
Cons: tough to hear some of the dialogue
The Bottom Line: A surprisingly good film, but doesn't fit into the usual box like other sword'n'sandal films.
Review: Alexander 4/5 Yet another sword and sandal film, and one which references the hero Achilles several times. Troy and Gladiator seem succinct in comparison to this three hour story about Alexander the Great, a well-known historical figure who is famous ...

Pros: A 30 YEAR CLIF NOTES ON ALEXANDER THE GREAT
Cons: Dialogue by Angelina sounded Russian and overacted
The Bottom Line: TRULY WATCH HISTORY IN THE MAKING OF A STORY OF ALEXANDER
Review: Besides a three hour running time, Alexander is well worth the money. It is a given that Oliver Stone would have to make changes to fit this story into a movie. Alexander's life was over 30 years long. Hard to fit that in a movie. Somehow I doubt we'd ...

Pros: Historical background and Angelina Jolie... very hot
Cons: Angelina Jolie wasn't in every scene
Review: Well then, its one of those movies that you have to be interested in the topic to enjoy it. If you are looking for an action-packed thriller, I'm not sure if you'll see what you want. But if you enjoy learning about history in documentary format; this ...
