Back When Michael Moore was Funny (and Sane)

by   inkkognito ,  Jul 1, 2004
Pros: Book about great early Moore work on a par with "Roger & Me"
Cons: Moore went nuts and turned to shock value instead of sharp wit.
The Bottom Line: Even if you don't like Moore, the person who created TV Nation is not the same one who made Farenheit 9/11. This book is great!
Review: With all the hoopla and controversy over "Farenheit 9/11" and Michael Moore's much publicized outburst at the Oscars when receiving his award for "Bowling for Columbine," it's hard to remember a time when the man made his point through a combination of ...

Relive the Adventure

by   obnox ,  Aug 20, 2000
Pros: Funny, informative, at times scarry.
Cons: Some conservatives may not find this book very amusing.
Review: A black man and a white man are attempting to hail a cab on the same New York street. Which is more likely to get the cab? What if the black man is Yaphet Kotto, who has acted in over 50 movies and TV programs such as Alien, Roots, and Live and Let...

The Stories Behind America’s Most Outrageous TV Show

by   JiggyJay ,  Aug 4, 2004
Pros: Humorous stories, behind-the-scenes information
Cons: I never saw the show
The Bottom Line: If you missed the show, then this is the perfect time to see it--only in a different medium.
Review: It’s been over ten years since Michael Moore’s intuitive and influential television program came out. Unfortunately I was only four or five when the show came out making me too young. That’s when I wish I was born sooner to experience TV Nation, ...

Sent straight to the bargain bin by capitalist pigs

by   Andrew_Hicks ,  Aug 24, 2000
Pros: Captures some of TV Nation's best segments, tells story behind beginning and end of the show's run
Cons: Mostly just recycles existing segments of the show without offering much to longtime viewers
Review: It must be a delicious irony to the corporate machine Michael Moore rages against that all his books end up on the bargain racks. I bought a hardcover copy of Downsize This from Waldenbooks for $3.99 a couple years ago, and then last month I...
