Don't even think about it...

First, Addonics claim that the device can be powered via USB is, well, questionable. It turns out that less than half the laptops on the market can support the amp-load required by the drive.

Second, and more importantly, Addonics customer support stinks. It's like dealing with pod-people. I tried to get them to replace my failed power transformer (the part failed after just two months use). And, put simply, they made it impossible. After round after round of emails and several unreturned phone messages, I gave up. Purchased and OEM replacement. Swore off the company. And committed to telling anyone who'd listen to avoid these clowns at all cost.
