Author's Review
I have owned this Acura RSX-Type S for two years and would say that this car lives up to Honda's standards of a reliable car that is fun to drive. The RSX offers Honda's high-revving K-series engine, which produces 210 horsepower and 143 ft-lb of torque, coupled to a slick-shifting six-speed transmission. This engine is capable of revving to 8100 rpm, but a lazy rev limiter allows the driver to push the car to 8500 rpm. Additionally, the car handles remarkably well considering that it's front wheel drive. Once you take this car on a windy road, you'll understand that this car was made for the spirited driver.
Aside from its performance aspects, this Acura delivers some impressive design quality. The exterior is a conservative design, not noticeable to the average driver, but the interior has the looks of a more expensive car. The leather seats aren't too particularly comfortable, but contain perforated black or tan leather and bolstering that will keep the driver glued into the seat. The dash comes equipped with a carbon fiber resin material which resists scratching and is very easy to keep clean. The gauges and controls all angle toward the driver, giving the driver the appearance and fell of being in a cockpit. And all this comes with a sticker price of $24,460 MSRP.
The one downfall to this car is ride quality in the rear seats. The front seats offer enough room and support for long trips, but the unfortunate souls stuck in the back seats will be asking to pull over every hour or so.
Overall, this Acura delivers exceptional performance and lives up to Honda's impressive reliability standards. The only problem that you may find yourself running into would be replacing the tries every 15,000 miles because this car is so much fun to push to its driving limits, whether you're on a windy road in the country or buzzing through daily traffic.
