MDX--After 61k miles--Acura can do better

Review: Consumer Reports (NOT!) still says the '01 MDX has never had a recall. Mine has for the transmission. And then I have had another tranny related problem. I don't tow with this but once tried to pull two 4 wheelers on flat land a couple of years ago...

Traded it in for the BMW X5

The Bottom Line: My particular car had some problems and Acura's customer service was surprisingly bad. Cabin noise above 50 mph is unacceptable. Smooth and powerful but the handling is very heavy.
Review: Pros:

1. Smooth, powerful ride.
2. Navigation system is quite useful.
3. 6 in-dash CD changer.

The Bottom Line: With three rows of seats, the MDX offers a lot of vehicle for the price. Just don't expect it to match the Lexus in luxury or the BMW in performance.

Fly first class: 1 year later update in REAL world conditions...

The Bottom Line: Handles the worst roads with comfort, safety and confidence. Best sound system going, just don't feed it thick CDs. No problems after a solid year of driving; it's all good!
Review: I had a Mazda Tribute and was very happy with it; great price, superb handling, thrilling power/weight ratio, even at highway speeds still lots of acceleration tucked away ready for passing.

But...I carry more than five people sometimes...

The Bottom Line: New, upscale. Incredible technology and craftsmanship separates the MDX from the rest.
Review: The MDX was developed by Honda for those who don't know. They spent plenty of time developing the "perfect all-terrain vehicle." 7 years to be exact. Anyway, it's release in 2000 astonished everyone including myself. At first, I was pretty skeptical...
