Tony Hawk Underground (Platinum) for PlayStation 2

Activision has come out with another great Tony Hawk Game. The great graphics and excellent soundtrack. This game has taken skateboarding to new heights with the new story mode.


STORY MODE - With the new story mode, you can take a "nobody" skateboarder from New Jersey to a "somebody". You can begin by creating a skateboarder's looks so that he can look like you do in real life. You begin your quest to become a pro as just a regular punk out skating the streets with your friends. You start at the bottom and work your way to to fulfill your dream of becoming a pro. You do this by trying to get sponsors and other skaters to notice you, and try to prove yourself by completing different tasks and missions and pulling the sickest tricks. There are 8 different levels full of different missions to complete. The different levels are 1)New Jersey 2)Manhattan 3)Tampa Fl 4)San Diego 5)Hawaii 6)Vancouver 7)Slam City Jam 8) Moscow, Russia.

MULTI-PLAYER MODES - If you have 2 controllers, you can play these games against a friend.

-Trick Attack-
The skater with the highest trick point total at the end of the time limit wins!

-Score Challenge-
Like trick attack, but you set a target amount of points, and the first one to get that amount wins

-Combo Mambo-
The skater who busts out the biggest point combo during the time limit wins. Your highest point trick will be your final score at the end of the match.

-Slap-
Who ever slaps the other person the most during the time limit wins. When two players collide, the one going the fastest stays standing and has slapped the other person.

-King of the Hill-
I think that this is the most fun 2 player game. There is a crown somewhere in the course, and when someone finds it they skate around with the crown on their head, and the other person has to try and get the crown away from you by skating into you. Whoever has the crown longest in the time limit wins.

-Graffiti-
The player with the most "tagged" objects wins. If you do a trick on an object it is tagged with your color. You can steal your opponent's tags by doing a higher point trick on them.

-Firefight-
This is the newest 2 player game, this is the first game it has been in. You can shoot fireballs out of your skateboard at the other opponent, and whoever hits the other person the most wins. I didnt really like this game that much, it is kind of stupid.

-Horse-
The classic game for basketball is now used for skateboarding. Nail a trick and see if your opponent can beat it. If he cant, he gets a letter. Whoever spells Horse first, loses the game.

-Free Skate-
No time limit, no points, just skate around and have some fun.

CREATE A SKATER- In Tony Hawk Underground, you can create any kind of skater. There are so many options you can have a one of a kind skater. You can choose their name, hometown, age, sex, tricks, hair style, skin color, accesories (hat, glasses, ect) clothing, tattoos, and so many more options.

CREATE A DECK-You can customize your own deck however you want with this unique tool. Hundreds of images to choose from, from wheel color to deck size, deck design, griptape, everything.

CREATE A SKATEPARK - The new create a park feature is bigger and better than ever. You can put anything you want from rails to gaps, ramps you can even raise and lower the ground. You can test your own park and skate on it, you can even save your park to skate on it later or keep working on it. The best park it that you can make it into your own regular sized level, which is like a whole street block. You can even create your own missions.

SOUND/MUSIC - The sound in this game is very clear and it is great music for a skateboarding game. Also, the soundtrack is unmatched by any other game, featuring over 60 different songs including Bad Religion - Big Bang, Dropkick Murphy's - Time to go, Jane's Addiction - Suffer Some, and Kiss - Rock and Roll all night.

GRAPHICS - The graphics are also excellent. There have never been any glitches like I get in some of my other games, and it is always a clear picture.

THE PRO'S - These are the pro skaters you will meet in your quest for fame and fortune.

Overall this game is an 8 out of 10, and the only thing keeping it from a perfect score is how easy it is. I still reccommend it though because the 2 player games are so awesome and the levels are still fun. I reccommend it for teens and up, and I think people that don't even like skateboarding will really enjoy this game.
