Review of Oki B4600 Laser Printer

I purchased the Okidata B4600 for use in a small office to replace another Okidata led printer.This compact monochrome led laser printer is slightly larger than the size of a hat box and light weight. It was easy to initialize, set up and operate.The first page is almost instantaneous.It churns out crisp and crystal clear led text at 27 pages per minute with resolution at 1200x600 dots per square inch and is a very quiet performer.The operation is smooth and easy without annoying paper jams.Its monthly capacity of 40000 pages per month makes it a work horse fit for a small business. Toner lasts for 7000 pages and costs $61.The total cost on line was $212 making this printer inexpensive to run per copy of paper.There are standard parallel and usb ports with serial optional.It is compatible with most systems such as Microsoft XP and Vista. The manufacturer's warranty is one year with overnight exchange provided. The main drawback is the 250 page storage capacity.I would have preferred a 500 page storage capacity.The relatively expensive cost of replacing the drum which can cost $138 or more is another drawback.At this price it pays to throw away this printer and buy a new one or give it to charity.
