Author's Review

I am a serious microscope hoobyist. I have many professional microscopes. I bought the Accus-Scope 3016 (the trinocular version) because I wanted to experience infinity corrected optics. The microscope is very heavy, a good thing. I compared the optical performance with my Zeiss KF2. There was no difference I could notice. Its labeled as a Koehler type. With a diffuser in the illunination system, this is accademic. But so is the Zeiss. I like the scope. Its pleasing to view and the resolution is where it is supposed to be. I tested it with a diatom test slide from Carolina Biological Supply. All the controls are smooth. Parfocality and parcentering ar excellent.
It lacks a filter holder under the condensor. Also the 10X objective's working distance is much too short. This is the main objective when examining pond water. I had to purchase their 10x plan objective, which has a larger working distance.
