Coldplay: Cooler Than You Could Possibly Imagine |
|||
|
Pros: Great songs, amazing lyrics, intelligent melody...all around PERFECT!
Cons: Why did I wait so long?
The Bottom Line: More consistent than Travis and more accessible (and less snobbish) than Oasis--Coldplay is great contemporary pop.
Review: Late to the party as usual, itÂ’s taken until recently for me to join in the overwhelmingly positive ...

Some Hotwork From Coldplay

Pros: One of the top 10 records of the 90's, 1-11, 11 & 8 especially.
Cons: Track 10 isn't all that good, some very dull drumming, sound not for some.
The Bottom Line: Listen to it, for God's sake!
Review: Coldplay began with the largely unknown EP, "Brothers & Sisters". They performed tracks from it, and a few more, at various places in the UK. This propelled them into stardom, and thus they culminated their mutual efforts in 2000's "Parachutes". Overall ...

Pros: Creative arrangements, Excellent musicianship, Album develops to a spectacular close.
Cons: Lyrics are often elementary.
The Bottom Line: One of my favorite albums of all time, Coldplay's undeniable talent is never more apparent than on A Rush Of Blood To The Head.
Review: Chris Martin lead vocals, piano, keyboards, guitar Jonny Buckland guitar, harmonica, back-up vocals Will Champion drums/percussion, piano, back-up vocals, guitar Guy Berryman bass guitar, synthesizer, harmonica, back-up ...

Pros: More upbeat than Parachutes...Production also a bit higher.
Cons: Lyrically repetitive at times.
The Bottom Line: Even after three dozen spins, this entire album still feels like a brand new pair of shoes.
Review: Just as its predecessor, Parachutes , Rush Of Blood To The Head is a fully self-explanatory album title. It's melodies so vividly relayed, and portrayed as whats commonly known as an adrenaline ...

Pros: Eleven tracks of gorgeous romantic melancholy.
Cons: Pretty much none.
The Bottom Line: Coldplay have cemented their position as the 21st Century's first kings of indie with the best album of 2002.
Review: This, then, is Coldplay's bid to avoid being remembered by music fans for their excellent (if not perfect) debut "Parachutes", and by the general populace for the great but unrepresentative hit, "Yellow". They don't disappoint.

Pros: Meticulously well-written music, superb lyrics, the band as a unit works well together
Cons: No liner notes, the first half is slightly better than the second half
The Bottom Line: I recommend it enthusiastically because of the lyrical and musical quality, and because you will find yourself emotionally moved in a way that you won't with most music.
Review: Well, Coldplay is my new favorite band at the moment, and it took a LONG time to get to this point. I heard "Yellow" right when it came out, and while it was mildly intriguing, I was just not interested enough to pursue them further. ...

Pros: Overall Amazing CD
Cons: You will either love it or hate it
The Bottom Line: If you can't make Church or Synagogue this week, pop it in, and you'll get the same experience. It's a must. Just listen to the whole thing straight through.
Review: The popular band Coldplay's most recent CD, A Rush of Blood to the Head, plays with the mind, offering thought-provoking lyrics and emotional sounds. Nearly every song uses repetitive arpeggios on the piano and guitar, creating a kind of repetition of ...

Pros: Great songwriting. Spectacular voice.
Cons: Conventional in parts
The Bottom Line: A Rush Of Blood To The Head is a great album and ensures Coldplay has a place on future golden oldies radio stations in about 20 years or whatever
Review: After the success of Parachutes Coldplay found themselves in a difficult position. Their fellow Radiohead-a-likes Travis had disappointed all and sundry with the by all reports fairly laid back (as befits a group of new millionaires) 'The Invisible...

Pros: Bone-chilling lyrics and unbelievable vocals.
Cons: Don't listen to this if you're planning to have a huge grin on your face.
The Bottom Line: Listen to one single first, love it, buy it, enjoy it!
Review: I don't want to boast and say I knew that they would do so well in America. But, I was hooked right ...

Pros: Beautiful melodies, emotional lyrics, can play it again, and again, and again...
Cons: one or two snoozer songs
The Bottom Line: I would'nt pick it up if your not into slower rock... I WOULD pick up if your just a music lover in general... you can certainly appreciate it.
Review: The first time I had heard of Coldplay must have been quite a few months back, when they first released Yellow off of their first album. I was flipping through MTV and they played the video, and I thought what a nice song. But it wasn't something that...
