Author's Review
"A Ring of Endless Light" is one of the best books I have ever read. It follows one summer in the life of Vicky Austin, a 15 year old girl living with her family on beautiful Seven Bay Island. Over the summer, she learns to cope with the sickness of her beloved grandfather, explores the world of romance with three very different guys, and learns more than she could ever have imagined by meeting some very special dolphins. As a true animal lover and romantic, I loved reading about all of Vicky's experiences with the dolphins and the boys, but what impressed me most was Madeleine L'Engles ability to convey the emotions of a 15 year old girl. I have now read this book three times and every time, L'Engle impresses me again by bringing me right back to the world of the Austins, the world of Vicky and her friends and family and the wonderful dolphins. And every time, I read the last page with a tear wishing that the book would go on and the story would continue. If you enjoyed this book, I would recommend every other book in the series, such as "Meet the Austins", "The Moon by Night", and "Troubling a Star", although "A Ring of Endless Night" was definitely my favorite.
