a man in full

Tom Wolfe has done it again. I travel a great deal and am always grabbing paperbacks as I run through airports. Of the 12 or so books which I have read this year "A Man in Full" is the strongest.
This novel deals with an extremely wealthy and powerful aging real estate magnet trying to hold his place in history.
Wolfe's strong descriptive quality allows us to feel we are a part of this novel. He can be a bit long winded with his detail in regard to clothing and property. But his character development is second to none.
He does a great job in describing life in Atlanta and how different segments of society attempt to survive with each other in that part of the world.
The reader will think a great deal about sociology while reading this work and will be forced to look at themselves in regard to their views on race.
