Kiss The Game Back

by   graydome ,  Aug 14, 2003
Pros: Some very very good tracks. Styles easy flow.
Cons: Bad and long skits. A couple of weak tracks.
The Bottom Line: There is too many great tracks on this album to miss it, and if you cut out the weak tracks, its a solid 5 miccer.
Review: Come on, how many of you got excited by the prospect of Jadakiss's solo album, only to buy it, and t ...

Ruff Ryders truly have something on their hands here

by   wrestler ,  May 22, 2003
Pros: This guy is probably the most underrated lyricist in the game and he shows why.
Cons: There are tracks he didn't need to put on the album.
The Bottom Line: I can proudly say I saw him coming. He payed his dues and dropped an album that deserves serious recognition.
Review: When you talk about Ruff Ryders, people will think about DMX. People will think of Eve. People will think of Jadakiss. But Ruff Ryders has a forgotten man. Quite a forgotten man. Styles drops his first solo album with A gangster and a gentleman. It is...

Cons: NONE! I loved all of the jamz on that sh!t.
The Bottom Line: 5 Mics, easily. This album was put together very well. VERY GOOD PRODUCTION!
Review: As A person who has followed rap music and hip hop culture for so long, as a caucasion american I found Styles P album worth all of the $20 I paid for it. A PURE CLASSIC. The skits were funny and if you just sat back and listened to the songs like "A ...

A Gangster and a Gentleman: Hardcore yet Human; The Diary of Styles Panero

by   bigd99999 , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Nov 7, 2004
Pros: Solid lyrical display; decent production; deep and realistic subjects
Cons: Below-average songs and performances hinder final rating; worthless skits
The Bottom Line: If you're an open minded hip-hopper, then this is definitely worthy of a few spins.
Review: Nowadays, being a gangster is synonymous with mainstream appeal. I spoke pretty well on this matter in my recent Jadakiss review; commercial "studio gangstas" who always pack the radio with the essentially same song constantly, never once dropping ...

A Gangster and a Gentleman: Styles Walks the Fine Line Between the Two

by   DVON , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Sep 22, 2004
Pros: Good lyrics, strong production, emotional and heartfelt, guest appearances.
Cons: Not for those who don't like hardcore Rap, a few poor tracks.
The Bottom Line: This is only for those who feel the hardcore subgenre.
Review: I've recently come to respect and admire Styles, the seemingly forgotten LOX member, as an artist for various reasons. For one, he's incredibly realistic and his thuggishness doesn't seem to be the whole of his lyrics. He is aggressive and violent, yes, ...
