Excellent Legal Page Turner

Jonathan Harr's "A Civil Action" is an absolutely breathtakingly original novel, with a true story that moves very quickly, and enraptures the reader into staying up way later than he or she should in order to get to the end. Yes, this book is THAT good.
Jan Schlictmann is a Boston attorney who comes across a case of a cluster of children in Woburn, Massacusetts, all of whom have developed leukemia and many have died. When he goes to investigate, he finds that the wells that supplied the drinking water were contaminated. Piecing together the evidence he builds a strong case against two companies, W.R. Grace, and Beatrice Foods. Can he come through? I suggest you read for yourself.
Harr does an excellent job-given unprecedented access to a lawyer and his case, he shows what Schlictmann (and his many many helpers) went through in order to try this case. An absolutely wonderful book, very much worth the work Harr put into it.
The only downfall is is that you have to get through 500 pages, and with the amount of pages devoted to the trial, can get to be hard to get through, but it still moves rather quickly.
