Flik's wonderful adventures

I was lent this movie for my daughter to view. At first she was terrified of the movie just from the beginning. I agree that the grasshoppers are very scary to a 3 year old. After viewing it with her 6 year old cousin, she was no longer afraid, and the overtaking of my house in little blue bugs had begun! The movie became a permanent part of our collection.

Pixar Studios definately has created and delivered some wonderful special affects that make their characters extremely lifelike. Flik, Atta, Baby Dot,and the rest of the gang in this movie are real in my daughter's eyes. The animation very lifelike even down to the blinking of the eyelids, and the creaking of the "shells" of the grasshoppers.

This movie is basically the story of "Flik" the inventor ant who's ideas always seem to have a flaw in them and end up getting him in trouble. "Atta" is a very nervous princess who is trying to learn the ropes on becoming a queen ant of her colony. "Baby Dot" is Atta's younger sister who wants her wings to grow in so she can be important. These are just a few of the characters you meet and grow to love in this adventure of growth and friendship.

A Bug's Life is very similar to Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in that the plots involve someone who doesn't invite trouble, but trouble always find them. Absolutely something that is a must see for any family.

PS: The "Outtakes" at the end are really really funny-just when you think you are done laughing !!!
