I wonder if it works...
Date of Review: Aug 21, 2002
The Bottom Line: If I had ever gotten it to work, I'm sure I would have loved it. Too bad that never happened.
I bought this for use in my K6 II clone that's a couple of years old. All the ports are on the motherboard, so that should have been my first sign that things would not go well - but I carried on and tried anyway.
The card went in fine, and the software seemed to install ok. But when I tried to do anything but view a Video CD (of which I don't even own any) I would get an error message that hardware wasn't installed.
I tried support, but they wanted me to call Canada (long-distance!) on my dime, so that was out - I didn't pay a lot for it to begin with, why pay even more to get it working.
I tried their support website, and it had some good suggestions, but nothing that worked for me.
Then I noticed a line on the box indicating that I needed a compatible video card. Guess what I didn't have?
So, I went out and spent more money on a new video card. That installed fine, but the TV Wonder still didn't work. More checking on ATI's site brought me no results, so I've removed the TV Wonder and the new video card and turned the machine into a server instead.
The requirements for the product need to be clearer on the screen, and the support website needs to be better - I searched on the text of my error message, and the website kept telling me I was missing a DVDRom drive. If I had a DVDRom drive in the machine, I probably wouldn't need to watch TV on it!
