Review: WHAT IS THE ATI TV WONDER?
The ATI Wonder VE is ATI's entry level TV Tuner card for your PC, though the only limitation that this card has which warrants the VE (value edition) name is that audio playback is mono. The card installs... |

Pros: Good record quality. Guide Plus software.
Cons: Tech support, not fully compatible with XP as indicated by their drivers.
The Bottom Line: As in life, there's no guarantees. This product may make your head swim after several hours of playing with compatibility issues and Windows XP.

Review: The thought of being able to watch TV on my desktop intrigued me enough to go out and spring for a TV Tuner card ($30). This plus the fact that I could record programming for future viewing or to archive.

Pros: It works weightlessly without taxing your computer. You've never seen such fluid video.
Cons: The software is buggy, actually unfinished, and difficult to work with in Windows XP
The Bottom Line: If you're easily angered by setup programs that don't work as expected, features that don't work as promised, or if you're a Windows newbie, avoid this beleaguered card.

Pros: Nice concept
Cons: Execution lacking
The Bottom Line: If I had ever gotten it to work, I'm sure I would have loved it. Too bad that never happened.

The Bottom Line: good for basic video capture/TV for those wanting stereo input/output should opt for ATI's TV Wonder and not the VE

Pros: Can watch a little (as in size) Tv while surfing
Cons: poor picture quality lock-ups (freezes),bad issues with Hyperthread computers, must use sound card input
The Bottom Line: I would NOT recommend this card because of the picture quality is so poor.Problems with Hyperthread technology. Frequent lock ups. Must use loop wire to sound card input.

Review: The card is easy to install physically in the PC, but will take some configuring, depending on your sound card configuration especially if you using 5.1 like myself, you will probably need two sound cards, but the set up software for the card will...

Pros: Low price for great-quality TV on your PC
Cons: Software, lousy video capture
The Bottom Line: The basic TV viewing functionality of this tuner card is excellent; the other features it advertises are nearly worthless due to poor software.

Pros: PCI SLOT, easy install, UPDATED DRIVERS AVAILABLE at ATI, easy to find at store
Cons: DRIVERS HARD TO CONFIGURE, SYSTEM MAY LOCK UP
The Bottom Line: Neat card and once setup is a value for the price. You must be computer literate or have a buddy that is that can help.

Review: Be warned, This was not an easy card to set up. My install took 4 hours. I have been building my own PC's since 1990. This was a moderately difficult install. My guess it that ATI brand labels this card as the technical support is non-existant. It...
