Great ultra-portable mini-laptop

The Bottom Line: There is a reason why these are flying off the shelves - they are just plain useful.
I have a full size laptop, which I use around the office and sometimes carry home.
It works for that, but is simply too big and heavy to carry around many places.
That is where the Eee-PC comes in.
At 2lbs+ it is super portable and very easy to take just about anywhere.
I wanted the 901 model for the extra storage, the wireless N card and the long (7 hour) battery life.
I use the Eee PC for email, VPN access and access to various web sites.
It comes with Star Office, but I really do not use this for working on documents, only reading the occasional email attachment.
The 901 has 12GB of built in storage, in 4GB and 8GB drives.
The 4GB C: drive is a bit tight for XP Home, but it works.
I haven't used the built-in web-cam much yet, but I am glad that it has one.
The speakers and microphones are useful for Skype or other VOIP soft-phone use.
3 USB ports are plenty, the ethernet port is good for hooking into wired networks.
A good suggestion is to install any additional programs to the 8GB D: drive.
Adding a 16GB or 32GB SD card gives even more storage.
The boot-up time is fast, the screen is clear and bright.
All in all this is a very useful package of applications in a very small, portable package.
