Extremely Reliable

Date of Review:  Mar 27, 2007
The Bottom Line: The 17?Powerbook is a solid workhorse with decent portability. If you are looking for a reliable laptop with a large screen and lots of power, the 17? will serve you well.
Review: Update: After 4 years of reliable service my trusty Powerbook had it's first major failure. This evening when I went to open it up the screen was almost completely blank. Upon a close inspection I could see that there was a tiny bit of light and...

Apple PowerBook G4 17": Slick Powerhouse

Date of Review:  Dec 28, 2005
The Bottom Line: A computer for the egomaniac in all of us, the one that wants the biggest, the fastest and the best. And it delivers, in spades.
Review: Egomaniacs like me just love the new PowerBook G4. It's safe to say that it's larger than life, with the full resolution needed to design software or run programs like Final Cut Pro or Motion.

And so it was Christmas, and Santa, in the...

PowerBook G4 17"; my favorite so far

Date of Review:  May 19, 2009
The Bottom Line: If you need portability and a powerful laptop that is great for both business and graphic demands, the Aluminum PowerBook G4 17" 1.67 GHz is a great solution.
Review: My current laptop is an Apple PowerBook G4 17" 1.67GHz. Like most of my computer purchases I bought this early-2005 PowerBook used. As an architect, I wanted the wide 17" screen that this model has for 3-D modeling. It works great for that purpose...

17" PowerBook G4 1.67GHz with Tiger

Date of Review:  Jul 14, 2005
The Bottom Line: Sometimes using the low cost supplier costs more than mere price alone. Yes, it cost more initially, but the later hassles are greatly reduced IMHO.
Review: I decided to purchase this 17" PowerBook because I liked the large screen vs. other models. I purchased before the announcement that Apple would move to Intel processors by 2006.

Would I purchase this laptop after the announcement?...

Mean Machine

Date of Review:  Jul 12, 2005
The Bottom Line: looks and functionality unite in one wonderful system. The system i bought left me a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart.
Review: Apple rules in view and vision.

There are so many things to tell about any Apple system. Like a wine with separate taste, it is not for all.

With Microsoft deep in the core of Apple, the system becomes more then a simple...

Never buying a Windows computer again!!

Date of Review:  Apr 24, 2007
Review: I bought this computer, a 12 inch G4 PowerBook, in late 2004. It is April 2007 and this computer is still going strong. First of all, it does everything that a windows computer can do, but better. It is super reliable and the battery is great. I...
