Hard to beat for the price

The Bottom Line: If you want $50 sound quality for $30, I have just 3 words for you: Buy, buy, buy!
I used to own a pair of Philips HP-550 and used to think they were the greatest deal for $30. But a week ago I saw an ad where the shop was selling the AKG K66 for the reduced price of just $30. Knowing AKG is a quality headphone brand it got me interested so I went to try them out the day after. All I can say is: "Are these really $30 dollar headphones?!" The mids, highs, lows, they're all there without any freq. being really dominating, just the way I like it. They're very easy to drive, in fact they're a bit easier to drive than my Sennheiser MX500 earplugs straight out of my MD. I've been using the K66 constantly for a week now and beside the great sound for the cost, they're very comfortable and go all the way around your ears (circumaural). The K66 are too big to be comfortably portable, but if you want a pair of good headphones for use indoors these are great value.
