Pros: Excellent noise cancelling, wide range sound reproduction and great price
Cons: Inline power/volume module controls would be better if located in the earcups.
The Bottom Line: These are a definite BUY if you are considering noise cancelling headphones. I would be amazed if the Bose was worth over $200 more.
Review: The previous review titled "Great headphones for high noise environments" gives a very detailed and correct description of these headphones. I agree that the earpads do get warm if the ambient temperature is also warm. But they never got uncomfortable. ...

Pros: A pleasure to listen to in high noise environments
Cons: Not suitable for lower noise environments where normal headphones would work fine
The Bottom Line: highly recommended for anyone who wishes to listen to their music in a high noise environment. For typical household noise levels, I recommend using regular headphones instead.

Pros: Big sound. Decent noise-canceling. Relative bargain price.
Cons: Rather bulky. A compromise when used for other than their intended purpose.
The Bottom Line: Decent noise-canceling and a very good sound at a fraction of the cost of competitors. But they are big, and best used only for their intended purpose.
Review: What are they? The Altec Lansing AHP712i is a full-size, active noise-canceling type headphone intended for reducing background noise or listening to music in a noisy environment, such as in an airline cabin. Active Noise Reduction (ANR) ...

Pros: Does filter out a range of surrounding noises. Great sounding headphones. Inexpensive.
Cons: Active noise cancellation frequency range is rather narrow.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend these if you can't afford anything better, and want to cancel out low frequency noises.
Review: I bought these headphones, because they were the most affordable active noise reduction headphones available that enclosed around one's ears. There are four other ANR/ANC headphones in the same price range: CyberAcoustics, Philips, Sony, and ...
