The Bottom Line: Great grinder for the price easy to use and easy to clean simple yet effective.
Well I cant say my review will be as interesting as the others but I'll do my best. After relying on the barristas at a local coffee bar to grind my beans for me and realizing it was to fine I decided I had to take matters in my own hands. So I did a little research pretty much everything else below this price sounded inadequate it was this or the Breville but guess what no body carried the Breville locally so Capresso it was. I was hoping to get by with the plastic one but as fate would have it this was the last one in town which I saw as a good sign so I settled for the brushed chrome what the heck I had a coupon.
So here's what I found so far, it has great settings, the fine works great with my espresso machine and the course worked well with my French Press it is indeed relatively quiet. I find it relatively easy to clean I'm not sure how much easier one could be. There is some static cling but I am operating in Alaska in the middle of winter it doesn't get any drier. The timer works great and I set the timer to grind only enough for one shot at time, if I want to shut it off I just turn the hopper counter clock wise.
It seems to me you could spend a lot more for a grinder and not necassarily get better coffee. Sure there are those grinders that have built in dosers but those are for the extreme coffee snobs who insist there is only one true way to make espresso or people who want to impress some one. Me I own a Capresso Ultima and love to drink coffee cup after cup I want to be impressed and so far I am and I did'nt shell out $300 for a grinder. The bottom line is for every day home use in a variety of settings you will be pleased with this grinder. Also since I own a Capresso espresso machine I have dealt with there customer service and found them to be very helpful and friendly.
One more thing I have read some complaints about the size of the hopper and the coffee container the bottom line is it is plenty big enough to make a pot of coffee or a press full. If you are going to make this investment in your coffee your care about taste and that does not allow for you leaving beans or ground coffee out in the air and light.
