Good wet, not so good dry
Date of Review: Mar 27, 2006
The Bottom Line: It's a great mop for any conditions, and a so-so vacuum. If you have pets or a lot of dust, you'll be using another dry vac method.
I rent a 1200 sq foot house with linoleum tile through the whole thing. I also have a big dog and live in a dry dusty climate. I bought the Flip-It to facilitate mopping both upstairs and downstairs. I'm not impressed with the dry vacuum feature. If there's any water in either the clean or dry tank, it drips when the vacuum is tipped to the 'dry' use side. It doesn't pick up dirt, small gravel and dog hair nearly as well as the Swiffer Sweep'n'vac I have. I expected it to have more power because of being corded. On the other hand, I LOVE the mopping feature. This is all I use it for; I find the sludge created by the dirty water mixing with whatever dust/hair the dry side does manage to pick up really nasty. It does leave a puddle of dirty water on the floor whereever you turn it off, and will drain a little while it is stored, but I just wipe up that little spot and store the Flip-It in the garage. One thing that would make this better is to be cordless/rechargeable. The cord is pretty long, just not long enough for my satisfaction.
