20,001 Names for Baby
Date of Review: Jan 14, 2009
The Bottom Line: I recommend this book if you already have an idea what you are looking for.
I found that this book was very hard to take in. It was very overwhelming, and I didn't find that it was very well organized at all. All of the names were just listed in alphabetical order and there was no way of just turning to one section of the book to find what it was that you were looking for. If you were looking for a name, for example that was Celtic you would have to already have had an idea of a name that you were looking for and look for it alphabetically, or you had to go through 20,001 names, and that is alot of names. I think that the book would have been a lot easier and less overwhelming if it had been categorized in to different sections, which would have made it easier to find what you were looking for. I also found that the book had a lot of older names in it and there were alot of names that weren't in it. Though the book wasn't well organized I found that it was good for getting some ideas if you didn't already have some, I know that it took a very long time to go through the whole book but we got a lot of ideas when we were finished. Another thing that I found good about this book was there were alot of names that we never thought of or that we never even heard of before and that was beneficial to us because we weren't looking for a common name we were looking for something a little more original and we were able to find it using this book.
