Product Review

Perfect Ride between SUV & Car

by   nycroverdrive ,   Nov 21, 2007

Pros:  MID size secure & stable, low price, comfortable, quiet, more offroad capable than most

Cons:  Smaller cargo, flimsy steering wheel, no cubby/cup holder standard, slightly mushy steering.

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

I drive an '04 Discovery - while it was in for repair the dealer loaned me the LR2. I don't know what the poster above is talking about, I found this ride to be extremely comfortable. It has LR capability (supposedly) and the handling of a nimble "crossover." I liked the console and layout, but thought the cup holder to be oddly too far back to reach easily. Hey, evey one has their "thing." I also found the rear seats to be comfortable, with a decent decline to them - unlike the Disco & RR Sport which are quite straight. I'm 5'9" and found it roomy enough, but perhaps taller folk would disagree.

I agree with the first post that the steering is vague, but I don't understand this obsession with pickup... you can't go from 0-60 to the next stoplight anyway and those SECONDS aren't going to get you to work or the store faster.

Visibility was great, it has low tire pressure sensors and nice sound system. Oddly, it didn't have a full size spare.
