Not so bad afterall!

The Bottom Line: Great little car for space & fuel.
My fiance purchased a 2008 Yaris for "us", he said as he put his belongings in the trunk. The said trunk of this car has great depth & width. Forgive my lack of specs, but it easily fit a huge boxed-up Costo run.
Moving onto the interior of the car, the leg room is more than accommodating in this petite vehicle. Adults easily fit without knee banging or acts of contortion upon entry or exit. The built-in safety feature of seat belt alarm will wear you down until you finally click the belt on. This is for driver & passenger.
Our sedan has a stick shift, which gives this small engine a nice added edge, and I would highly recommend it. I did 100 MPH driving from NY to Chi, and before I was pulled over, it drove without any obvious shakes, rattles or stress. I was impressed since there was a considerable amount of luggage packed in. Additionally, I've hit more than one Chicago pothole- and the car's suspension has held it's own.
The dashboard proved to be shortcoming. It is very high and blocks my ability to see where the hood ends.Parking is easy in this vehicle, but I find myself softly bumping into spots since I can't see the end of this (very short) front end.
Additionally, you would be wise to get small blind spot mirrors onto your side panel mirrors (they stick right on). There are wicked blind spots. I am 5'6" and my fiance is 5'11" & we both had the same trouble.
Pet peeve was that the headlight icon on the dash is misleading, since it's blue. It led me to believe I had my high beams on.
We should have opted for better tires. Factory offered tires were poor quality.
The car is great on gas! Due to current day circumstances, I should have led with that fact. The gas gauge is digital and reads by bars. The longest we've lasted without any bars left was 30-40 miles.
