06 Passat Does many things well

I have always wanted a Passat so finally I purchased a new 2006 with the 2.0 L Turbo.
At 20K the vehicle has had a few service appointments outside of the standard maintained items.
My first disappointment was when I learned that I could not do my oil changes. It is too involved with first having to remove a skid plate. Pay the dealer ($50.00) for synthetic oil and you're good for (6,000) miles.
The service calls to date have been specifically for recall items such as the wiper motor.
The vehicle has satisfied most of my expectations.
Some things like the turbo lag and road noise I have learned to accept.
The creaking in the front suspension is still unresolved but the dealer has told me they have some other ideas toward a solution.
The 2.0 L is very adequate. The gas mileage gets better the faster you go. The car is just fun to drive and offers a refreshing change from all the Japanese designs on the road.
