This is the second VW I have leased. The first was a 2003 Jetta with the 1.8 turbo and it was a great car. I never had any problems with it, and VW was always great to deal with at service intervals. When I started looking at the Passat, I was immediately drawn to the 3.6 V6 until I saw the price tag. I decided to take the 2.0T out for a ride and it was awesome(22/31 MPG). I was extremely impressed with the simplicity of driving this car and the comfort it provided. The 6-speed automatic transmission is very nice compared the 5-Speed manual in the Jetta because of the tip tronic option. All in all, VW does it again compared to it's competitors. The car handles very well with the upgraded 17-inch wheel and Michelin All Weather tires on it. It's amazing on how smooth the car accelerates to 60+ mph, while you don't even feel it at the wheel. I looked at Infiniti's, Audi's, and Lexus's, and they were all over $35K with similar options, (Package #2, Sirius Sat, Sunroof, Steering Wheel Controls, etc). I leased this Passat for 3 years, and look forward to the next VW I will driving. If only VW would design a midsize 4-door 4x4. Imagine that!
