Date of Review:  Dec 17, 2005
The Bottom Line: would highly recommend it. the quietest car i have ever driven, great handling and duel temp control works well
Review: bought the 2006 avalon limited with gps about two weeks ago. traded a 2001 lincoln continental for it and am very satisfied when i can pry it away from my wife. it is really hard to get used to not having to use a key or the remote door opener. you...

The Avalon comes into its own: Not just for retirees anymore

Date of Review:  Jul 10, 2006
The Bottom Line: The Avalon finally delivers and distinguishes itself from the Camry. To find a car from another automaker that can compare, you'll be moving into the $50K range and beyond.
Review: Author's note: This review is longer than most, so I split it up into sections so you can focus on what you're most interested in. For those who are car shopping and want to know why I decided the Avalon was the way to go, start from the beginning...

Avalon - Toyota or Buick?

Date of Review:  Dec 29, 2005
The Bottom Line: Avalon does not stand out from the crowd and with a hefty price tag, I would look around for a better value.
Review: My father-in-law has just traded in his 2002 Toyota Avalon and bought 2006 Toyota Avalon Limited. I drove it for a few days putting about 400 miles on the car.
I liked: passenger room, reclining rear seats, cabin design, quiet ride.
I did...

Review: 2006 Toyota Avalon
Great Car, Substandard Electronics

Buying a car today can be as complicated as deciding which flat screen TV format is right for your home and wallet.

That's because today's automobiles are more than just...

Many Strengths and Weaknesses

Date of Review:  Jan 14, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you hate GM and need a large Buick Sedan, this is a good choice. For maximum value, negotiate a deal on a Buick with an Extended Warranty.
Review: Read Toyota TSB ST002-06 BEFORE you buy this car and do NOT expect Toyota to replace the part if you are out of miles on the warranty.

Interesting car. I own 2006 Limited and two other Toyos. The Avalon is great for space, huge cabin in...

Avalon Navigation System Sucks

Date of Review:  Jan 24, 2006
The Bottom Line: Buy the car, skip the nav system.
Review: I just can't understand what the people at Toyota were thinking. Don't they test what they build? I just took delivery of two new 2006 Toyotas, a Highlander Hybrid and an Avalon, both with Navigation systems.

I got the Highlander first. I...

Best Car

Date of Review:  Apr 20, 2006
Review: I bought the car in October 2005,and I have 6500 miles on it. I compare the car with my wifes buick park avenue ultra. The Avalon XLS beats the ultra in every way,it's more quiet,a lot more quiet, has more speed, and on the e-way I get between 31.5...

Excellent car, terrific value

Date of Review:  Apr 19, 2006
Review: Superb ride & handling, ultra quiet, sleek stying. Limited has just about everything I could want. Roomy all around, good visibility. Stereo sound is about as good as it gets (& I'm a performing & recording musician with high standards). Very...

nice, with some flaws

Date of Review:  Oct 13, 2009
Review: Just bought 2006 XLS with 65k. Great power for V6, a bit sabotaged by trans that hunts for proper gear, especially up hills. Cruise won't slow car down on steeper downhills. Beautiful, spacious interior. Sloppy, wallowy handing to someone used to...

Finally, I got my Avalon!

Date of Review:  Sep 13, 2006
The Bottom Line: This ain't your granny's car anymore! If you want luxury, a smooth ride, fun extras, and great Toyota service, this is the car for you!
Review: I bought my 2007 Avalon Limited on 9/11...no real purpose in that date, but it just happened that way. I was extremely frustrated by the choices on Toyota lots in my area, until I went to the largest and most respected Toyota dealership in...
