We are happy with it
Pros:
Looks big, feels sturdy/stocky; looks sporty; trunk size; remote start; travel computer; 4 doors
Cons:
Small glove box compartment (barely fits map+). Needs bigger rims. No standard transmission.
The Bottom Line:
If I could spend the money, I would go for something like a 2007 Camry, but I am satisfied with this car.

Author's Review
I was looking for a second hand Pontiac G6 bc our budget was a little limited.
So The G6 seemed just 'ok', but my husband wasn't convinced with the car. I took it home for the weekend and was returning on monday morning to purchase it, and that's when I found out about the car, when I REQUESTED a Carfax report to the dealer(the free online report told me it had 7 records, too much for an almost new car I thought). Well, it turned out to be a salvage car.
So then, the dealer offered us a CLEAN title second hand 06'Pontiac Grand Prix base model for the SAME price we were going to pay for the G6.
What a difference. My husband fell in love with it. My kids love the car too. Several of my friends told me they had relatives with the same car and they were very satisfied with it. I wanted something sporty but family-friendly.
I changed my driving behaviour when I arrived to the US (after being in very aggressive Italy), so I haven't 'pushed' this car as much as I would normally do. I am used to standard transmission, and automatics are just not my favorite. I think it's a little sluggish at first (not as bad as the automatic VW Passat), but I don't need to spin my wheels everytime I start rolling the car (I quit goofing around after I had kids). It still has enough power to get me out of 'trouble' (like passing other cars). I thought it was going to be pretty bad on gas, but I am making an average of 23-25 mpg. It feels smooth when I drive it. The CD player sounds good, but the buttons are a little confusing, unless you spend some time reading them or you use the lovely steering wheel controls.
The cruise control is very easy to operate. The emergency brake is conveniently situated next to the left foot.
I am not a tall person, but sometimes I've wondered if a tall person might touch the top with his head when accessing the cabin, as it seems a little low (the front cabin looks 'coupe-ish' to me). The back doors open up pretty wide.
The travel computer screen should be under the speedometer and operated from somewhere around the steering wheel (like in the VW Passat), and I recommend you don't play with it while driving. The front seats are enveloping, and I like the lumbar support.
It wasn't the car I expected to own, It's not be the most practical, it's not a GT, but WE are satisfied with it.
